Open Roles
3 Positions
Postdoctoral Fellow (several posts)
A doctoral degree and strong background in organic and/or organometallic chemistry (broadly defined) are required. Candidates with experiences in synthetic organic/inorganic chemistry, transition metal catalysis, photocatalysis, OLEDs development, chemical biology are especially encouraged to apply. A strong sense of responsibility, good organizational skills, self-motivated and ability to work independently are also required.
Applicants will be engaged in the following research projects:
a) Development of new synthetic methodologies with the involvement of transition metal catalysts, identification and characterization of high valent reactive intermediates by photospectroscopic methods and/or experimental methods
b) Design and synthesis of new metal complexes showing unique photophysical properties, elucidation of their photophysical and/or photochemical properties
c) Investigation of OLEDs performance using the organometallic materials developed in our research group
d) Development of novel inorganic medicines, elucidation of the mechanism-of-action of these complexes by proteomics

Supervisor: Professor Catherine C.L. Wong
About PI: Professor Catherine C.L. Wong is the former founding director of the Peking University Center for Precision Medicine Multi-omics Research (2018) and National Center for Protein Science Shanghai (2013). She is now a tenured full professor at Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Science, and an independent PI at the State Key Laboratory of Complex, Severe and Rare Diseases. She is also a professor at the CAMS Oxford Institute, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and the founder and chairman of Foreseen Biotechnology.
Her research mainly focuses on mass spectrometry-based proteomics technology development and applications on both basic biological and translational research.
Her research covers several pipeline projects that are currently being clinically translated, along with numerous patent authorizations. She has developed a comprehensive closed-loop novel targets discovery system, using integrating clinical proteomics, AI-empowered multi-omics data modeling, biomarker identification, and novel drug target screening. This has been fully recognized and validated by a over 10 billion USD licensing deal of a first-in-class ADC drug FS001 to Ipsen Inc. in July 2024.
Professor Wong has published over 100 publications in prestigious international journals with more than 8,000 citations and 48 H-index. She was selected into the “Outstanding Technical Talent Introduction Program” of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2014. In 2024, she was honored with the Clinical and Translational Proteomics Sciences Award by the Human Proteome Organization (HUPO).
Research Focus:
The lab recently focuses on developing single cell proteomics and protein glycosylation, as well as the closed-loop systems integrating clinical proteomics and multi-omics to identify novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets. Fellows will:
- Employ cutting-edge technologies (proteomics, multi-omics integration, AI-driven data modeling).
- Validate discoveries using clinical samples and preclinical models.
- Contribute to diagnostic/therapeutic development with clear clinical paths.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Cell Biology, or related fields (cross-disciplinary background preferred).
- Demonstrated expertise in core laboratory techniques (e.g., mass spectrometry, omics data analysis, molecular/cell biology).
- Ability to work independently with exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to translational impact.
Position Package:
Internationally competitive salary with comprehensive benefits.
Application:
Full applications including cover letter, CV, three references (names and contact information), expected salary and expected availability date should be submitted via email to Prof. Wong (catclw321@126.com)
